You can prevent students from adding posts after the due date and keep the discussion forum open so students can read posts.
Directions:
1. Click Course Tools and then Discussion Board.
2. Click on your Class Discussion Board to get to the forums.
3. Click the down arrow and then Edit.
4. Click Standard View
5. Uncheck Allow Members to Create New Threads and Allow Users to Reply with Quote
6. Click Submit. You can keep the discussion forum open, but students will not be able to post.
