Course Reset will delete EVERYTHING in your course. Use with caution!
We can’t say this enough: THINK LONG AND HARD BEFORE YOU DO THIS!!! Performing a Course Reset means you want to remove ALL the data from your course. ALL OF IT. It will all be gone. You cannot get it back.
Now that we have that out of the way, here is the step-by-step guide for performing a Course Reset.
- Go to Course Tools > Course Management.

- On the Course Administration page, scroll to the bottom (be sure your view is set to Category). Choose Course Reset.

- Once you do this, it cannot be undone.
Course Reset returns your course to an empty shell. This means all user data will be deleted and not available in data sets; all activities and content will be permanently deleted and cannot be restored.

- Below is a list of what is affected by Course Reset and the data that is kept.

- Scroll to the bottom of the page. Choose the checkboxes next to “Reset course content, activities…” You can also remove “Group enrollments and categories” if you use those in your class and want to reset them. Once you check those boxes, click the “Reset Course” button.

THIS IS YOUR FINAL CHANCE.
Once you press the Reset button, you cannot undo the Course Reset.

- Here’s what you will see when you press the Reset button.

- When the process is complete, the Audit Log will appear confirming the reset.

- The course is now a blank shell and you will be able to start again!
